Year End Program, K & 6th Grade Graduation

As we are nearing the end of another home school year, it is time once again for the NWACHEA End of the Year program. This is a time to celebrate our children and their successful year. This year the program is scheduled for Thursday, May 12 at 6:30 pm at Grace Church NWA. This is the location of the Fayetteville/Springdale classes as well as the location of the used book sale scheduled for Saturday, May 14.

As part of that celebration, we would like to recognize our kindergarten and 6th grade students. We will be having a short program to recognize each of these students that have completed kindergarten or 6th grade. NWACHEA provides the caps and gowns to be worn during the ceremony. Along with the graduation ceremony, we will be having talent time. Any student who would like to participate in talent time is encouraged to do so. Talent can include anything from playing the piano or other instrument, singing a song, reciting a poem, etc. Students may perform solo or in groups.

If your child would like to participate in the talent time, please email Sheri Hampton with your child’s name and what they will be doing, for inclusion in the program flyer.

If your child will be participating in the graduation ceremony (Kindergarten or 6th grade), please email Sheri with your child’s name and grade, so every child is included in the program flyer and so that we can ensure there are enough caps and gowns for all participants.

NWACHEA Used Book Sale

The 2011 NWACHEA Used Book Sale will be held Saturday, May 14th.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A NWACHEA MEMBER TO BUY OR SELL AT THE BOOK SALE!

The sale will be Saturday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Grace Church NWA, 2828 N. Crossover (Hwy. 265) in Fayetteville. The church is located on the east side of Crossover just south of Old Wire Road and north of Township.

There is no charge to attend the book sale. If you wish to sell books at the sale, you will need to purchase labels, be assigned a seller number, mark your items and bring them to the church on Friday, May 13th between 4 and 7 pm.

Labels are $3 per set. In addition to payment for labels, 2 self addressed, letter sized, stamped envelopes are required. Please contact Amy Calhoun for the mailing address.

There are 50 labels in each set. You may purchase multiple sets of labels if you have more than 50 items to sell. One envelope will be used to mail the labels and instruction sheet with your assigned seller number to you. The other envelope will be used to mail your check after the sale. Please BE SURE to send a letter sized envelope for the labels. (It is difficult to fit 50 labels in a thank you card envelope).

All items must be clearly labeled with your seller number to calculate your total sales. Labels should be placed on the TOP, RIGHT corner of your items. Items should be priced in whole dollar increments. You may want to bundle some items together. If you have items bundled together, please secure all items so they don’t get separated or lost. Some have used string, large rubber bands, ziploc bags, etc. Clearly mark the item as a set with only one label.

As items are purchased, we will remove the label and tally the items bought. The buyer pays for all items purchased at one time at one check-out table.

Beginning at 2:00, we will sort all unsold items by seller number. Please pick up your unsold items between 3:00 and 4:00 pm. Any items not picked up will become the property of NWACHEA and will be donated or disposed of. After the sale, we will tabulate sales and mail checks to the sellers as soon as possible. NWACHEA will retain 8% of sales to help defray expenses.

We will need some volunteers to help set up on Friday evening from 3-7. This will include moving the sanctuary chairs and setting up all the tables. We will also need some volunteers to work during the sale. If you would like to volunteer, please let us know what time slot you will be available:
FRIDAY:  3:00-5:00 p.m., 5:00-7:00 p.m.
SATURDAY:  8:00 – 10:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Please contact Sheri Hampton if you wish to volunteer to work. Volunteers will be allowed to shop early before the doors are open to others.
