Mark your calendars: the NWACHEA Used Book Sale is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, June 20-21, 2014 at Mt. Comfort Church of Christ in Fayetteville. 

Note the location change this year – with easy access from I-49 (a.k.a. 540) – and NEW shopping times!

The sale will be Friday 7 – 9 p.m. AND Saturday 9 – 11 a.m. Volunteers will be able to shop Friday 6 – 7 p.m., prior to opening the sale up to non-volunteers.

You DO NOT have to be a member of NWACHEA to participate in the book sale as a buyer or seller. There is no entrance fee to shop. 

SELLING BOOKS 

If you wish to sell books, you will need to purchase pre-printed labels that include all of the information required for the sale. Labels are $3 for a set of 50. Your books must be marked with these labels to be placed in the sale. If you wish to purchase labels, please contact Amy Calhoun. (If you have NWACHEA labels left over from previous years, you may use them – but please let Amy know that you are planning to sell books this year.)

NWACHEA will retain a percentage of sales as follows:

Volunteers who work Friday 2 – 4 pm or Friday 4 – 6 pm or Saturday 11 – 1 pm – 5%
Volunteers who work Friday 7 – 9 pm or Saturday 9 – 11 am – 10%
Non-volunteers – 20%

Drop off for all items will be Friday, June 20th, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Mt. Comfort Church.

Unsold books must be picked up on Saturday, June 21st, from 12 – 1 p.m. Any items left behind after the sale will be donated or disposed of, at NWACHEA’s discretion. 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 

Due to suggestions from some of you, we have changed this year’s sale to include shopping hours on both Friday and Saturday. Please help us make the new schedule a success with your volunteer labor!

We must have enough volunteers to complete tasks in a limited amount of time, in order for the sale to operate on schedule. The 3 times slots listed (above) at the 5% commission rate are critical. If you do not have a preference, please consider volunteering for one – or more – of those. The Saturday 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. shift is particularly crucial. 

There are a limited number of available slots in each shift. If you wish to volunteer, please contact Marni Hendrix.

Volunteer times/tasks are:
* Friday 2 – 4 p.m. (marking chair locations, stacking chairs, setting up tables, sorting/placing books)
* Friday 4 – 6 p.m. (sorting/placing books)
Friday 7 – 9 p.m. (book straightening, working checkout table)
Saturday 9 – 11 a.m. (book straightening, working checkout table)
* Saturday 11 – 1 p.m. (sorting and stacking unsold books for pickup, breaking down tables, setting up chairs)

 * Please DO NOT bring younger children during these times. Volunteers will be moving furniture, carrying boxes, sorting books, and they cannot safely do these things with little ones in the area.
