* * Update * * – NWACHEA Used Book Sale

We are still seeking volunteers for the Used Book Sale on June 20-21!

There are a very limited number of Saturday shifts remaining for the Used Book Sale. The 11-1 shift is particularly crucial to sorting unsold books for sellers to pick up after the sale. In addition to serving many homeschooling families in our area through their efforts, volunteers pay substantially lower commission on any books they sell, and are also able to shop early (from 6 – 7 p.m. on Friday) before the sale opens to the public!

Please contact Marni Hendrix if you are able to help during any of the following times:

Saturday 9 – 11 a.m.
* Saturday 11 – 1 p.m.

* For safety reasons, it is very important that small children are not in / around the shopping area during the shift marked with an asterisk. We are not able to provide childcare for volunteers. However, there is a playground outside the church, where younger children can play with the supervision of their older siblings.

The volunteer shifts are explained in more detail below.

============

The NWACHEA Used Book Sale is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, June 20-21, 2014 at Mt. Comfort Church of Christ in Fayetteville
Note the location’s easy access from I-49 (a.k.a. 540) and NEW shopping times this year!
The sale will be Friday 7 – 9 p.m. AND Saturday 9 – 11 a.m.
Volunteers will be able to shop Friday 6 – 7 p.m., prior to opening the sale to non-volunteers.

You DO NOT have to be a member of NWACHEA to participate in the book sale as a buyer or seller.  There is no entrance fee to shop.
SELLING BOOKS
If you wish to sell books, you must use pre-printed NWACHEA labels. The deadline has now passed to receive labels before the sale, but they will be available for pick-up on Friday, June 20th, to sellers who have registered in advance. Please contact Amy Calhoun for more information. (If you have NWACHEA labels left over from previous years, you may use them – but please let Amy know that you are planning to sell books this year.)
NWACHEA will retain a percentage of sales as follows:
Volunteers who work Friday 2 – 4 pm (NOW FULL)or Friday 4 – 6 pm (NOW FULL) or Saturday 11 – 1 pm – 5%
Volunteers who work Friday 7 – 9 pm
(NOW FULL) or Saturday 9 – 11 am – 10%
Non-volunteers – 20%

Drop off for all items will be Friday, June 20th, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Mt. Comfort Church. If you will be picking up your book sale labels on the 20th, please plan to arrive early to allow sufficient time to label your books before the 6 p.m. deadline.

Unsold books must be picked up on Saturday, June 21st, from 12 – 1 p.m. NWACHEA will donate or dispose of any items left behind after the sale, at our discretion.

 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Due to suggestions from some of you, we have changed this year’s sale to include shopping hours on both Friday and Saturday. Please help us make the new schedule a success with your volunteer labor!

We must have enough volunteers to complete tasks in a limited amount of time, in order for the sale to operate on schedule. The 3 times slots listed (above) at the 5% commission rate are critical. If you do not have a preference, please consider volunteering for one – or more – of those.
There are a limited number of available slots in each shift.
PLEASE NOTE: We are now fully staffed for all shifts on Friday. If you wish to volunteer for any of the remaining Saturday shifts, please contact Marni Hendrix. The Saturday 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. shift is particularly crucial.
Volunteer times/tasks are:
* Friday 2 – 4 p.m. (marking chair locations, stacking chairs, setting up tables, sorting/placing books) NOTE: THIS SHIFT IS NOW FULL
* Friday 4 – 6 p.m. (sorting/placing books) – NOTE: THIS SHIFT IS NOW FULL
Friday 7 – 9 p.m. (book straightening, working checkout table) – NOTE: THIS SHIFT IS NOW FULL
Saturday 9 – 11 a.m. (book straightening, working checkout table)
* Saturday 11 – 1 p.m. (sorting and stacking unsold books for pickup, breaking down tables, setting up chairs)
* For safety reasons, it is very important that small children are not in / around the shopping area during the shift marked with an asterisk. We are not able to provide childcare for volunteers. However, there is a playground outside the church, where younger children can play with the supervision of their older siblings.

For any other questions, please contact Amy Calhoun.
