REMINDER: Fay/Spr NWACHEA Planning Meeting – Sept. 1st

A final reminder for those who wish to participate in Fayetteville/Springdale NWACHEA this year — please come to the group’s fall planning meeting on Thursday, September 1st from 1-3 p.m., at Mt. Comfort Church of Christ in Fayetteville.

At this meeting, we will be outlining our tentative schedule of events for the fall semester.

Children are welcome to attend the meeting, as always. Students age 8+ will be playing board games while the adults meet. If your family has a favorite game, please bring it along to share with others! Younger children (age 7 and under) will be supervised in a separate room by older teens, with a kid-friendly movie, coloring pages, and possibly some other activities.

Please remember, Fayetteville is parent-led and we depend entirely on parents volunteering to make activities happen for our families, so please come prepared with ideas for field trips and events that you would like to organize for the group.

Fayetteville NWACHEA Back-to-School Park Day, Aug. 25th

Join Fayetteville/Springdale NWACHEA families for a back-to-school park play day on Thursday, August 25th, from 1-3 p.m. at C.L. “Charlie” and Willie George Park at 4023 Hylton Rd. in Springdale. The park is located just off Don Tyson Pkwy. and east of Butterfield Coach Rd. Come any time between 1 and 3, and stay for as long as you’d like. Bring a picnic lunch — or dinner, depending on how long you want to hang around! — for your family if you’d like to eat at the park. If you have a friend who is currently homeschooling (or interested in doing so) and would like to meet families in the NWACHEA group, please feel free to invite them! It’s a good opportunity to see if the Fayetteville/Springdale group is a good fit for your family before the school year gets too far underway.

The park offers a splash pad, playground equipment for all ages, lots of benches, a pavilion with picnic tables for eating your lunch, and lots of open green space for kids to run and play. We’ll plan to meet at the pavilion by the splash pad. Looking forward to seeing familiar faces and new ones, as well!

We anticipate scheduling the fall planning meeting within two weeks of this event, so look for more info in the upcoming weeks.
