Fayetteville NWACHEA Planning Meeting – Friday, August 10th

Mark your calendar and plan to attend Fayetteville NWACHEA’s fall planning meeting on Friday, August 10th at 1 p.m., at Mt. Comfort Church of Christ in Fayetteville. At this meeting, we will be outlining our tentative schedule of events for the semester, and collecting membership forms / dues.

A membership application is available for download from the nwachea.org website; you may want to fill it out in advance. Applications may also be mailed to:  NWACHEA of Fayetteville, PO Box 454, Tontitown, AR  72770

If you are interested in Fayetteville NWACHEA but you have not yet become a member, you are welcome to attend the planning meeting to hear about our activities for the semester, meet some of the other parents (and kids) in the group, and decide whether Fayetteville NWACHEA is a good fit for your family.

Children are welcome to attend the meeting, as always. Younger children will be supervised in a separate room, with a kid-friendly movie, coloring pages, and possibly some other activities by older teens. Older students (age 8+) will be playing board games on the far side of the sanctuary while the adults meet. If your family has a favorite game, please bring it along to share with others!

Please remember that Fayetteville NWACHEA is parent-led and depends entirely on parents volunteering to make activities happen for our families, so please come prepared with ideas for field trips and events that you would like to organize for the group over the next months.

Please contact Beth Gildner with any questions.

FREE ‘Getting Started Homeschooling’ workshop – Aug. 2 at 7PM

You are invited to a FREE workshop about “Getting Started Homeschooling” at the Circle of Life Hospice Building in Springdale/Tontitown on Thursday, August 2nd, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. This workshop is presented by Marni Hendrix, a mom from NWA who has homeschooled her 8 children.

Getting Started Homeschooling
Information on how to file intent-to-homeschool forms, encouragement and what to expect for the first year, local support groups, legal support organizations, requirements and the law, and more.

If you know someone who is considering homeschooling for the first time, or someone who started last year but has never attended a workshop like this, please invite them.

This is a FREE workshop!

RSVP’s are not needed.  It’s OK to come late or leave early.  Marni expects this workshop to last 1.5 to 2 hours.

There will be no childcare provided. Nursing infants and babes in arms are welcome, but in consideration of others, please do not bring older children who might find it difficult to sit quietly during the workshop.

From I49, take the Holiday Inn exit in Springdale (exit 72) and go west toward Tontitown.
Near Tontitown, turn right at the Jones Rd. stoplight. There is a Harps on the right at that intersection.

Circle of Life is located at 901 Jones Rd., in the first building on the right after Harps.
It says “Circle of Life” on the building, but at the entrance there is a sign that says “Willard and Pat Walker Family Center” and another that says “Earlene Howard Hospice Home.”

Hope to see you there!
